DAIRY POOL POLL.
ELECTION IN TRAIN. Pfu Press Association. WELLINGTON, October 29. In anticipation of the Proclamation jjbaut to be issued declaring the Dairy Industry Control Act in force, arrangements are in train for the carrying out of the poll required for the election of the producers’ representatives on this board. The ct requires that six members of the board shall bo elected by direct vote of the producers in the North Island and three in the South Island. The Crown Law officers have decided that this necessitates the taking of a vote over the whole of the North and South Islands respectively, and prevents the ward system of voting being used. The poll will be taken by postal ballot, and all secretaries of dairy companies are requested to provide the Electoral Department with lists of present suppliers, corrected up to date, the lists to be in the hands of the Electoral Department by November 16. Nominations are required to be in the hands of the Electoral Department not later than November 22, and the poLl will close at noon on December 13. Regulations to this effect are now in. course of preparation, but this early notification is made so that those interested can have as much time as possible to make their arrangements.
