DELEGATES IN CONFERENCE ; Pek Press Association. WELLINGTON. October 29. Matters in connection with the control of boxing avere discussed at a conference to-day by delegates from the various New Zealand centres. Air F. '•./ Campbell (Otago) presided, and there were also present Messrs Gawn < Dunedin>. Bush (Auckland), Carr (Gisborne). Perkins (Westland), Robson (Canterbury). Aldridge (Hawke’s Bay), Staples and Dawson (Wellington). Gif’ hertson (Invercargill), and Kirk. John, ston, and A tack (New Zealand Council). •Mr Campbell explained that lie had ruled That the recent conference in Dunedin bo a Centre conference, but this was sairl to be illegal. Mr Hobson sairl that every effort should be made to keep Australasian championships in existence on some more favourable conditions. At the Boxing Conference, Mr IV G Ataek said that he did not favour New Zealanders competing in State meetinßS. and sugsested that the Australasian championships be confined to three main centres and that New Zealanders make the trip every three years. Finally, the < onferenec decided on' I the motion of Mr Robson that, it be. a suggestion to the New Zealand Council that it should arrange for visits of New Zealand representatives to the Australasian championships in alternate years and that Australia be represented in New Zealand once every ten years.
