M’Ciachlun. A successful and enjoyable farewell social evening was given by Mr and Mrs Stanley Hodgson, of Bcntlen, Papanui. to their raanv friends on their leaving the district to reside in Invercargill. The hall and drawingrooms were artistically decorated in pastel shade streamers and balloons. Dancing ami musical items were indulged in. The music, was supplied by Mr J. Rugg aml Mr S. Burns, extras being given bv Mr s Stanley Hodgson, Misses Gladys Rugg, Florence Harris, Lorna Moore and Edna Kettle. Some of the musical and other items were contributed by Miss Rugg. Mr Robertson, Miss Whitley, Air Cooper. Miss Hodgson and Air Hannah. After supper was served Mr ami Mrs Stanley Hodgson were presented with a travelling rug, and speeches weie given by Messrs A. Robinson. F. Sutherland, and \\ . Purves. Air Hodgson suitably responded.. Amongst those present were: Mes•dames Stanley Hodgson, black satin; M’Kav.
