WOOLLEN MILLS BURNED
FIRE AT INVERCARGILL. Per Pbk-'S Association. INVERCARGILL, October 27. The Rosed&le Woollen 'Mills at North Invercargill were destroyed by fire at 4 o’clock this morning. Being situated outside the town boundary the brigade did not attend the lire, and despite the efforts of the residents with buckets, the flames swept the buildings. Some stock was saved but tho valuable plant was destroyed. The Rose dale stock, plant and buildings were insured for £36,000 in the Royal Exchange and Yorkshire Offices. The damage is estimated at £30,000. The mill employed seventy hands, who are now thrown out of employment. ! The Mercer Patent Extinguisher re- • duces fire risks and safeguards property.
