CHARGE OF THEFT.
EX-GOVERNMENT WORKER CONVICTED.
Pm Press Association*. VY ELLINGTON, October 2G. An ex-employee of the Labour Department, John Craig Neill, was, at the Supreme Court to-day, admitted to j probation for two years on a charge of theft as a Government servant. The Judge said that in an ordinary case he would not grant probation, but he had to take into consideration j accused’s health which might suffer if ! he was sent to prison. As the ProbaJ tion Officer had pointed out Neill had been fleeced by bookmakers.
