QUEEN’S THEATRE.

“ THE FACE ON THE BAR ROOM FLOOR.’*, "What is claimed to be a most impressive picture will be screened at the Queen’s Theatre next Monday. This is the Fox special, “ The Face on tho Bar Room Floor,” and is portrayed by an all start cast. This is a picture that should attract wide interest, because in dramatic sweeps and thrilling development, it depicts the slow degradation of a man who seeks to forget himself iu drink, and then, Jiis fight to win back a woman’s love and respect. Henry B. Walthall plays the leading role of Robert Stevens, the artist, and never has tho “ little colonel ” of “ The Birth of a Nation ” acquitted himself §o splendidly. There is pathos, wistfulness, and a faint touch of humour ever and anon in his characterisation. The thrill of the entire picture centres in two tremendous scenes. The prison revolt, the clash of men. fierce in their mad break for freedom, primitive pas •ions afire, the value of life in the discard. Closely following this comes a ilorm scene. Tho large, snip, crowded with frantic passengers, tossed violently about in the convulsive waves: treacherous rocks confronted the ship, hidden in the inky darkness. And then, in the nick of time, the light in tho lighthouse is turned on by Stevens and the ship is saved. Ruth Clifford and Alma Bennett support Walthall in this picture. The second attraction will be “ Merely Mary Ann,” a delightful remedy drama with Shirley Mason in the leading part. This is a fine story and gives the popular little star a

splendid opportunity of displaying her talents. Supporting pictures are “ The Mummy,” a Sunshine comedy ami the latest Fox News.
