CONSTABLE SHOT IN SCUFFLE.

Frederick Joseph Smith, aged fifteen, a ward of the State, was found guilty of manslaughter at Bendigo. Smith had worked for several firms, and was accused .of thefts. When Constable Delaney rode into tho yard towards him. Smith levelled a gun and in a scuffle Delaney was shot. Smith was remanded for sentence.
