CITY AND SUBURBAN A”. RICCARTON. The annual matches between City and Suburban representatives and the Fliccarton Club were played at Hagley Park yesterday. Riccarton won the senior grade by 12 runs on the first innings and also the junior grade match by an innings and 130 runs. SENIOR MATCH. City and Suburban batted first and made 136. Smythe 38. Matthews 35, Peacock 21 and Robertson 20 compiling most of the runs. Riccarton replied with 147, R. J. Powell 47, A. C. Fuller 26.

A match between the executive of the Canterbury Boys’ Cricket- Association and the Veterans' Cricket Club was played at Hospital C-orner yesterday. The Veteran? batted first and made 40 (Henderson 14. Mann 10). Arnott- (3), Johnston (3). Gregory (2) and BiltcliS (2) took wickete for the Executive, who replied with 121 (Gregory 35, M'Menamin 18. Moore 18, Reed 16 not out, Arnott 13). Cook took five wickets for the Veterans, whilst Fleming (8> and Harris (2) accounted for the remainder. A team of cricketers, organised by Mr C. J. Goldstone, and comprising chiefly young players from various local clubs, journeyed to Doyieaton. where they met the Ellesmere representatives. The match was closely contested and ended in a win for Ellesmere by six wickets. A fine century by R. Walkor for the country team was the outstanding feature of the batting, while Chamberlain (Ellesmere scored 54 not out. Coupland 38, Cockrofi 29 and Logie 28 batted soundly for the town team.
