AUSTRALIAN NATIONALIST CONFERENCE.

The Nationalist Conference adopted a resolution that congratulations be cabled to Mr Bruce for his advocacy of Empire preference, which it was stated is in the highest interests of Great Britain as well as of the Dominions. The resolutions also stated that the time liad arrived when the Empire statesmen should think and act- in terms of Empire rather than that of isolated states. The party platform was amended in the direction that the Australian naval policy .should take the form of co-operation with the Imperial Navy and the other Dominions with a view to maintaining an adequate Imperial fleet in the Pacific. The conference also decided that no increase should be made in the salaries of Federal members unless the electors were consulted.
