Y.W.C.A. GIRL CITIZENS.

RESULTS OF COMPETITIONS The Y AV.G.A. girl citizens’ week-end sports and competitions were continued on Saturday, when the programme was taken up with action songs, drill, folk dancing and dramatics. The competitions were conducted on the group scheme and fourteen teams, numbering about 200 girls, entered. The results Action song Koa team 2d points 1, fli Hi Tahi 21 points 2. Highly commended : YVolahe and Adventurers, 19 points. The judge was Miss Millicent Jennings and points were assessed ou the quality of the voices, rhythm, dicJon and general interpretation. Drill (points for breathing and posture) —C.O.U. and Koa, equal, 32 Folk dancing- AYliaretaii. Adventurers and Maramarata, equal. 10 points. 1. The judge, Miss Greenwood, said the award was made on the amount of enjoyment which the performers appeared to derive from the dance. Dramatics (passage from Bible) — Waireka. (‘‘The Talents”) 21. points 1, Hi Hi Tahi C : Prodigal Son ”) 20 points 2. C.O.U. ("The Ten Virgins”) 19 points 3. Judge: Miss Irene Wilson, M. A. To-night- the winners will stage their final displays at St Paul’s Hall, after which the award for most points in the competitions will be made and a silver cup. donated by Vlr XV. H. Seed, will be presented to the winners by the Mayor. The results so far for swimming, volley ball, dramatics, action song, physical culture and folk dancing, out of a. possible total of 125 points, a.re Koa section 94.
