On Sunday afternoon Derry’s Band will give a popular programme on tho Victoria Square rotunda. Derry’s, at the present time, is easily the largest and strongest band in Australia and New Zealand, having a playing membership of sixtv-six instrumentalists, comprising: Oboe, flue, picollos, clarionets, saxophones, in addition to tho usual brass band’s complement of cornets, tenor horns, baritones, trombones, euphoniums, basses, drums, bells, tympani, etc. Next Friday the entire organisation of sixty-six performers will leave Christchurch for Wellington, where arrangements have been made to give a series of concerts on Saturday and Sunday. Many of the pieces to be played in Wellington will be featured in Sunday afternoon’s programme. These will be a collection towards the band’s uniform fund, and it is hoped that the public will liberally support this call.
