ACCIDENTS & FATALITIES.
A NARROW ESCAPE. CAR GOES-OVER BANK. On Wednesday /evening, when returning to Gebbie’s Valley with his daughter from the Addington market. Mr R. Gcbbie met with an accident which might have had serious consequences for them both. .Jusfr as they were going down tho hill from Mot, 11karara a serious mishap occurred, ! and tlie car went over the bank ami j dropped twenty feet, where it was caught and held by a. wire fence. Both occupants were luckily thrown clear, but they were severely shaken. They were able to proceed home, but the car had to be brought back to Christchurch for repairs (See the picture on front page.) FALL FROM TRAIN. ASSISTANT GUARD’S DEATH. Pkr Press Association. DUNEDIN, October 13. Wilfred Vivian Gain, a guard’s assistant. who met with a severe accident in the Caversham railway tunnel -'yesterday, died in hospital this morning.
