THREE MONTHS’ GAOL.

ACCOUNTANT IN TROUBLE. Per. Press Associatio.v. HAMILTON, October 13. At the Police Court John Oheverton Kersey, a bankrupt accountant, formerly of Cambridge and Te Awamutu, was sentenced to three months’ ■ imprisonment for failing to keep proper hooks. The Magistrate said that it was not a case of an ignorant man. Bankrupt was an experienced accountant who must have known the necessity of keeping proper books. The Official Assignee was at a great disadvantage trying to adminster this estate, owing to the absence of proper books and the creditors must have been affected a good deal.
