THE FERRY SERVICE.
MAORI TO RESUME. The L nion Company report that the ferry steamer Maori, which, during the -inter months, has been converted into an oil burper at Port Chalmers, is to leave there on Tuesday next for Wellington. She will bunker at Wellington prior to re-entering the Welling-ton-Lyttelton passenger service. Tho Maori is to leave Lyttelton on Thursday. October ib _on her 'first -trip. Meanwhile the Wahln© will w\trf>drarr from the service and will proceed to Port Chalmers for annual survey and overhaul. The Maori and the Mararoa will maintain the service for some time. It is understood that during the summer months the Mararoa will withdraw and that the Maori and the Wahine will carry on the running. Captain Irwin will have charge of the Maori from Port Chalmers to Wellington, and back to Lyttelton. Then Captain Irwin will take command of the Mararoa. and Captain Cameron wail join the Maori.
