DUAL CONTROL. (Special to the ,c Star.”) WELLINGTON, September 28. Inquiries made by a representative of the “ Star ” regarding the Railway Department taking over complete control of the Arthur’s PassOtira section of the Midland Railway, show that this is not regarded officially as an early eventuality. Matters have been running smoothly, bufc it is considered wise to continue the present arrangements until there is no possibility of a breakdown.
The Minister of Railways and the heads of the Public Works and Railways Departments will make an official inspection of -he section during November. Dual control may :n-l Icfnr.« that time, but the matter is not
