WOMAN’S NOCTURNAL VISIT TO A BREWERY. A woman: visited the Burton Brewery, Rangiora, late last night, and effected an unlawful entrance. She was arrested, and appeared before Messrs G. I. Jennings and J. Marshall, Justices of the Reace, at the Police Court to-day. Tho accused, AAilhel mina Ann Chambers, a married woman, was charged with vagrancy and having, been found on premises with unlawful .Sergeant Cassidy stated that there had been thefts of beer.from the Burton Brewery at night. Constable Rob- ! orison and the brewery proprietor j watched the premises, and between 10 and 11 p.m. they caught accused iu the brewery. She made a vague explanation of her entrance and intentions. She had gained entrance through in window, having first rethrough a window, having first rebetween some boxes outside the window. The Bdnch sentenced her to one month’s i mpri sonme nt.
