CAMPAIGN IN IRELAND.
A ONE-SIDED TRUCE. By Telegraph—Pres* Association—Copyright Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. . LONDON, May 3. Some surprise is manifested in Dublin at the fact that the Dait Eireann meeting passed without any allusion to de Valera’s proclamation, especially since the entire absence of irregular outrages shows that his one-sided truce has been put into operation. The Free State Government, however, is apparently determined to ignore the effusion, at any rate for the time being. The rebels are still being harried and hunted, which the Government has emphasised by issuing details of a considerable number of arrests. Though somewhat puzzling on the surface, the Government attitude follows logically ijs determination to suppress the revolt without a compromise, and to refuse to be drawn into a controversy.
