OBITUARY.

T. W. FRANK] SH. Another of the Canterbury pioneers passed away to-day in the person of Mr 'Thomas William Frankish. The late Mr Frankish arrived in the Domini cm over sixty years ago from Yorkshire, and was for many years a well-known farmer in the Leeston district. Some years ago he came to reside in the city and entered the employ of Messrs Dalget-y and Co., in whose service he remained until the time of his death. The late Mr Frankish was a well-known figure at stock **ales throughout the province, and was considered an authority on all matters relating to stock. He had been in ill-henbn for some time past, and the end was not unexpected. He was a brother of the late Dr Frankish, a well-known Christchurch surgeon in the early days of the province. Mr Frankish, who is survived hv his wife and a grown-up family, was seventythree years of ago. The funeral, which will take place to-morrow morning. will be a private one.
