TO-DAY’S CASES. CHRISTCHURCH. (Before Mr M weru Wilson, S.JI.) DRUNK KN X ESS. George Robert M’Leod pleaded guilty to a charge of being found in n state of helpless drunkenness. M’Leod had be*»n arrested at AmberIcy and was remanded for medical treatment to Paparua. M’Leod was convicted and ordered ' to pay 17s 6d medical expenses. BY-LAW CASES. John Athya. for speeding, was fined £3. Archibald Caldwell Brown, for casting offensive matter, was fined 20s. .Peter Cairns, for speeding, was fined 20s. Leonard Chivers, A. Pearce, and I>. Stent, for cycling on the footpath, were each fined ss. W. H. Williamson, for speeding in Cashel Street, was fined £3. J• F- Hamilton, for driving past a stationary tram, was fined 40s, and for driving without a certificate, of ability ho was fined 10s. Agnes Cassidy was convicted and discharged on a charge of allowing cattle to wander. W. C. Trembath, on a similar charge was fined 20s. Badger. Stanley Binns. Roland Bull, Leonard Cummings, Clarence Clemens. James Dodds, and Bernard B. W ood were each fined ss. Thomas Hall, for leaving his car unattended, was ordered to pay costs. Gordon Fairweather, for stopping his car on the wrong side of the road, was ordered to pay costs. Walter Garton, for having no certificate of ability to drive, was fined 10s. Harold Handiside, for speeding, was fined 40s. A. G. IN all was ordered to pay costs £3 for not paying his tram fare. Norman Dixev, for driving with dazzling headlights, was fined 20s. Ajbert TaHett, for cycling on the footpath, was fined ss. A charge of speeding against Josiah Win. M'Clintock was dismissed. W. E. Simes, for disregarding a traffic signal, was fined 20s. SENT TO THE ISLAND. Samuel Robert 'Frisk, who was convicted on a charge of breaking his prohibition order, was ordered to be. detained at Roto Roa for two years.
