SCHOOL COMMITTEES.

LTNWOOD. The first fnonthly meeting: of the new Linwood School Committee was held last night; present—Mr H. J. Bowlker (chairman), Messrs F. G. King, Geo. Phillips, W. S. Young, R. H. Wilson, W. Martin and F. Lindley (honorary secretary). Apologies for absence were received from "Messrs H. F. Herbert and H. Macintosh. The head master reported that the roll totalled 717. There had been a. good average attendC'orrespondence was received from the Education Board regarding the new flagpole. It was decided to have a. concert at the end of this term in aid of the Memorial Fund. It was decided to ask the Education Board to supply screenings where required. The Visiting Committee reported that a top-dressing of asphalt is urgently needed. Repairs to fences had been carried out. The Visiting Committee appointed for May was Messrs J. Lindley and W. Martin. The following were elected as delegates to the School Committees' Association :—Messrs H. F. Herbert, J. Lindley and W. Martin. The committee endorsed the Education Board’s recommendation and decided to close for term holiavs on May 11. Accounts for payment totalled £l6 7s Id.
