MAY DAY CONFLICTS.

In connection with the May Day demonstration, four police were hemmed m by a crowd near the Labour headquarters. One of them was stabbed in and batons, and attacked the crowd, and batons, and attacked the chowd. The conflict lasted half an hour. Several were injured. Thousands of workers participated in May Day demonstrations. All was orderly till a dispersing group of demonstrators came into conflict with the police. An ugly situation developed and the police fired, killing two and wounding two.
