WELLINGTON CONFERENCE, (Per Press Association-.) WELLINHGTON, May 3. The Minister of Agriculture wrote tu the Farmers’ Union Executive Conference, stating that experiments in the late cutting of Californian thistle with the object of checking its spread, had riot revealed any advantage. The experiment would not be proceeded with. A further question as to the necessity of revaluing returned soldiers’ land was brought up by a letter from the Returned Soldiers’ Association. Jt was agreed by the executive to keep the matter in view, but until the reports of the commissions’ inquiry were received the executive could not take any action. . -fbe W orkers* Educational Association wrote asking for financial support from the union. Several speakers acknowledged the good work that was being done by the association, but t ™, aR i u Hs e d that more information should first be obtained as to the nature of the instruction given. The disabilities of children in the backbJooks, with respect to education, were emphasised. The letter was received.
