The preliminary hearing of a charge of manslaughter against Thomas j Francis Bailey as the result of the death at Karori of a. boy thirteen years of age. Herbert- Reginald Johnston, through being knocked down by a motor-car driven by the accused, occupied the Court to-day. Bailey pleaded not guilty and was committed to the Supreme Court for trial. Bail of £IOO was allowed.
