COMMONS PASS VOTE. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright* Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received May' 2, 10-30 a.m.) LONDON, May 1. The House of Commons, by 274 votes to 01, carried a vote for a Singapore naval base. Lieutenant-Colonel L. S. Amery said that the proposal was not contrary to either the League of Nations or Washington Treaty. The Empire’s fate might be decided in that lieigl.boui hood.
