AUCTIONEER’S CHARGES.

DISPUTE IN WELLINGTON. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, May 1. Vegetable producers in the Hutt Valley decided lost night to market their own produce through an independent auctioneer. This is because of a dispute with the auctioneer over the sale of loose produce and the raising of commission charges. Interesting developments are expected. The dispute arose over the terms of sale. Tlie growers hold that in the past they hare sent in their produce with the right to receive the containers back or receive credit for them. Now the auctioneers want to sell the containers with the produce without allowing the producer anything. The market gardeners, therefore. threatened to send in their produce loose, as a result of which the auctioneers decided that commission on loose produce would be increased from 10 to 12£ per cent., the probability being that if produce was sent in loose handling charges would also be greatly increased.
