AMBERLEY RACES.

HELD AT RICCARTON. The Amberley Racing Club's annual fixture was held at Riccarton to-day, the oours© being placed at the disposal of the country club by the Canterbury Jockey Club. Unfortunately the weather was unfavourable, the morning- being showery, and this affected the attendance. The rai.i which fell earlier in the week had mad© the track heavy. Pakoti took charge at- the start, followed by Jimmy Chimes, Golden Peter and Wild Pointer, but. at. the end of two furlongs Wild Pointer lost bis place. Pakoti going on in while Galantry was moving up. Jimmy Chimes was done with at. the end of six furlongs, where Pakoti wa~ showing the way to Galantry. Wild Pointer and Lord Clan. A little further on Pakoti broke, interfering with Wild Poiutev. Lord Clan led round the home turn, but before the straight was reached Pakoti was up with the front diviaon. Pakoti took charge in the straight and won by three lengths from Eric Rothschild, who finished fast and beat Lord Clan by half a length, with Bingen Wilkes and Wild Pointer next. Times—4.s 1-5, 3.35, 4-i 1-15. AMBERLEY CUP. Of 200 sovs; second horse 40 sovs am. third horse 20 sovs from the stake. One mile and a quarter. 1— Mr H. A.
