M’Cully were appointed delegates to represent the union at the annual meeting of the New Zealand Rugby Union to be held in Wellington on April j ” Mr M’Phail said it looked as if the meeting would be a particularly interesting one. The Canterbury delegates would require to put up a good fight if the new kick-into-Touch rule was to be retained. Mr Payne said it was necessary to ap- j point another resident delegate to the New Zealand Union, a man who would keep in touch with Canterbury matters. Mr Dey said that one resident delegate. Mr T. Fletcher, had already been appointed. The opinion expressed generally at last meeting was that it was not advisable to appoint two. APPOINTMENT OF SELECTORS. Nominations for the appointment of three senior selectors wore received as follows:—Messrs E. Taylor (Old Boys), «. G. Dcnniston (Christchurch), and G. D. Gray (Albion). Mr W. Thompson—- " That the fourth grade competitors consist of players not otherwise graded, who are tinder the. age of sixteen years on the first of May in each year," and (2) by Mr It. H. Biggar—"Any player shall be eligible for the fourth grade who is under sixteen years on May 1, and under 9«t 71b in weight on the date of the beginning of the 'competition." It. was decided that the union meetings ! be held on Monday nights this season, that the season open on April 28, and that entries for the competition close on April 21. THE ASSOCIATION GAME. CANTERBURY MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE. A meeting of the Management Committee of the Canterbury Football Association was held last night; present—Messrs K. B. Bunt (in the chair), W. D. Ramsay. R. W. Walker. W. Deans. E. Ransom. W. Keech, W. D. Sharman. H. Crowder. Thomas, Courtney, Whittington, M’Gill, Purdon; Eastgate, Frickleton, Chappel, Flood, Munro, Dick and H. Froggatt A deputation consisting of Messrs English, Bunt, Bentley and the secretary was ’ appointed to interview the sports master of the West Christchurch School in connection with the playing of Association football at the school, it having been re- ■ ported that scholars were forbidden to play “ Soccer." The Nomads Club reported on the Easter visit of the Thistle Club (Wellington). Tho Thistle Club wrote expressing appreciation of the excellent time spent while guests of tbe C.F.A. cided to meet for the next three weeks in the Veterans’ Association rooms (on Monday nights) at seven o'clock. The admission charge to English Park was fixed at 60, ladies free; and c.ntvance to the stand Hd. The question of players being- charged was discussed. L§,st season players voluntarily paid for admission. It was decided that it be a recommendation to senior players to pay for admission to English Park, an amendment that 2s 6d ground fee be added to the registration fee being lost. The match committee was recommended to postpone the opening of the junior grades competitions till April 21, in view of the fact that a compulsory military parade has been called for Saturdav, April 14. A meeting of the Canterbury Referees' Association was held last, night. Mr E. Knights was appointed delegate to the C.F.A. and Mr W. Bryce (Wellington) was appointed delegate to the New Zealand Referees' Association. It was decided that in future the assor ciatiou will abide by the rule which provides for one whistle only for all infringementis.
