FARMER FINED £lO. (Per Press Association.) DUNEDIN, January 17. , r At the police Court, Herbert Omond, on a charge of ill-treating a girl, twelve and a half years of age. was fined £lO. The girl had been licensed out to the defendant, who is a farmer. On account of something done to his children he took the child’s clothing off. put her under a tap, and flogged her with a dog collar. The defence denied the stripping and urged that the defendant, who bore an excellent character, was beside himself at what‘had happened. »
