BOMBS IN INDIA.

In further frontier air operations, sixteen machines made nine flights, dropping five and a half tons of bombs. They also made two reconnaissance flights, but very little movement was observed. The bombing and shelling of Makin continues. The enemy casualties include several important leaders. An ammunition dump was also blown up. The air operations have produced a considerable moral effect among the hostile sections actually bombed. They show' indications of a desire to know the terms on which a settlement might be made. SALARIES OF MINISTERS. SUBSTANTIAL REDUCTION. DELHI. January 13. In view of the financial difficulties 4he Government the Ministers of the 1 nit-ed Provinces have decided to accept salaries of 4000 rupees a month instead of 5300 rupees.
