A. complete deadlock lias been reached in the building trade negotiations. The employers proposed that the hours bo forty-seven for eight months, fortyfour for two months, and forty-one and a half for two months. They also proposed a 20 per cent reduction of the present wages. The men refused any extension of the present forty-four hour \ evk or reduction of wages, but denlanded tbe stabilisation of the present conditions for a year.
