The Note handed the German Ambassador intimates that France has decided to send into the Ruhr a commission of control, comprising engineers, to superintend the operations of the German combine which controls the coal mines. andsfor the application of the measures which the Reparations Commission has decided on to assure the payment of the reparations. Italy has decided to send engineers, who will act similarly. France does not contemplate any military operation or political occupation in the Ruhr. She will only send the troops necessary to safeguard the mission. The population will not have to submit to any disturbance. or alteration of the existing •state of things.
