NEW ZEALAND FARMERS’ CO-OPERATIVE ASSOCIATION.
AN OPTIMISTIC NOTE. Th© Turn of the Tide ”is the text j °f a circular issued by the management I of the New Zealand Farmers’ 00-oper- ! ative Association of Canterbury, Lim- | ited, to its shareholders and clients. : Mr A. W. Jamieson writes as follows | on behalf of the management: !V e should like to take this opportunity of extending to our twelve thousand shareholders, as well as numerous other clients, our sincerest • thanks for their practical loyalty and support during the past two years. I This fine support and hacking has aided in no small degree to counteract the insidious forces and influences that have been at work to frustrate the cause of co-operation. Kipling aptly wrote : “It's not the guns and armaments, Or the money you can pay, But the close co-operation That helps to win the day. It’s not the individual Or the army as a whole, But the everlasting team work Of every blooming soul.” The true meaning of this splendid sentiment has been amply demonstrated by our people during the 1921-1922 crisis period. The great “Turn of the Tide” is now taking place, and we confidently look for a return of that prosperity which has attended the association all along from its inception, over forty years ago. It is satisfactory to note that the trading returns in every section of the business are steadily improving, thus exhibiting the power of your loyalty and co-operation, which is the best reply to the mischievous critic. You are the owners of this great Cooperative Association, and by supporting it you are helping yourselves.
