SHIPBUILDING YARDS. By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright Australian and N.Z. Cable Association (Received December 5, 11.15 a.m.) SYDNEY, December 5. The State Government is considering offers for the Hale of Walsh Island ship building yards at Newcastle. Mr R. T. Ball, Minister for Agriculture, ex presses the opinion that the State should soil industrial enterprises, but not sacrifice them. The yards are valued at l>e tween £700.000 and £BOO.OOO. The Broken Hill Proprietary ( ompany was desirous of purchasing them during the war. but the Common wealth Government intervened and blocked the sale.
