LOCAL ELECTION FEATURES

SYDNEY, December 4 The most noticeable features of the municipal and ’shires elections throughout the State are the unusually heavy poll, and the large number of sitting members defeated. Politically these elections have little significance, interest centreing on local questions. Labour strengthened its position ir. a- few instances, and in others lost grout!. The few women candidates offering failed to secure winning sup port.
