FATAL FIRE.

A fire occurred at a residence in Earn Street, at- eleven o’clock last night, by which Ida Ethel Junker, aged twenty-three, lost her life. She was the only occupant, and was overcome by smoke and was suffocated. Twd rooms were gutted. BLAZE IN FEILDING. (Per Press Association.) FEILDING, December 2. The biggest blaze in Feilding for many years occurred last night, when Broadbelt’s box factory was completely destroyed. The outbreak was discovered at eleven o’clock, and the building, which was made of wood, burned like tinder despite the brigade’s efforts. The contents, apart from the machinery, were mostly white pine. The damage amounted to several thousands. The insurances are not available. Twenty-five hands have been thrown out of employment.
