ADJOURNED CREDITORS’ MEETING. An adjourned meeting of creditors in the bankrupt, estate of William Muri».v Angus, formerly of Christchurch, uns held yesterday before the Official Assignee, Mr A W. Walters. Mr 1.. W. (ice appeared for the parents of bankrupt, wh,> is aL present in Australia. The sworn * latement, which had been taken at a meeting of creditors ?n Nelson, stated that bankrupt had commenced work in the Railway Department. After being with the Office Appliance bran? It of Deighton, .Scott, Baker and Co . Ltd.. Christchurch, he uas appointed manager of the Office Equipment Company at a salary of £5 a week. An older and more experienced man was later appointed manager, and bankrupt left after having differences with him. He commenced a women’s journal, “ Dominion Home Weekly.” but the staff did not work well. Misfortunes continued. and advertising varied from £ll3 to £(55 a week. On February 18 he managed to bring the issue out only by giving his publisher. Mr Watkins. an assignment of all his assets, except Those already mortgaged. He attributed his failure principally to the effect of the ‘■lump in advertisements and to his inexperience. The Official Assignee said that the main unsecured creditors were : -Mrs A. S Angus. £596 12s: Mr W. S. Angus, £•346 3* ; L. T Watkins. ItcL. £360 7s 2d: T. Neale. £Bl 17s 2d: W. Strange and Co.. Ltd.. £59 Is 4d. It was agreed that the Official Assignee should investigate the pbsitioa of the estate mure fully, and the meeting was adjourned sine die.
