Nicola was securely fastened in n regulation strait jacket and his legs were bound. He was then hoisted head-downwards by a. rope and pulley listened to a beam placed on the parapet of tire hotel. Jt took .Nicola about two minutes to free himself from the strait jacket, which he took completely off and threw down to the balcony. He was then gently lowered amidst loud applause from the crowd. At the call of Mr Leadley three cheers were given for him.
