PROHIBITION FIGURES.
STATISTICS OF FIVE STATES By Telegraph—Press Association -Copyright Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. NEW YQRK. October 26. With the election a fortnight away, in which the Prohibition issue will officially he tested, statistics of five States which have been issued by leading pro and con organisations are considered significant. The Anti-Saloon League has announced that 125 Prohibition agents have been killed and 3500 wounded in their efforts to enforce the Volstead Act. The Association against Prohibition, on the. other hand, has announced that arrests for drunkenness in fifty-six cities numbered 252.000 in 1920 * and 343,000 in 1921. while arrests for all causes increased nearly 19 per cent during the same period.
