PREVALENT IN FEILDING. (Per Press- Association.) WELLINGTON. October 11. Mr David Miller, the Government Entomologist, states that the eucalyptus pest reported as causing destruction in the Feilding district, is not fireblight, as lately stated. but th« gum tree scale, which was imported 1 torn Ana. ralia in about 1900 and whirl: became very destructive in Canterbury and Otago* till overcome by a special ladybird Last season the infection became apparent in Taranaki, but fortunately the ladybird appeared there xt the same time.* No doubt they will get the upper hand.
