Measles have been j prevalent lately in a mild form, but j the more severe complication ot bronchial pneumonia lias been fortunately j absent- Had the measles outbreak ! occurred earlier in the winter it is considered that its ravages would have | been much more severe. A few cases of scarlatina have been reported, notably from the Lincoln j district. but their number is not great > enough to give rise to any uneasiness, j Christchurch, which, in the past, has! borne the reputation of being a pneumonin centre " at this time of the year, ' is this year almost entirely free, and. : in this respect, is more favourably situated than any of the other large I ceu tics.
