Dixieland wag the scene of an enjoyable function Inst evening when a small committee, consisting of Mrs H. Burns, ALrs W. G. Jves and Mr I). M’Cormick gave a jazz evening. The ball-room was charmingly decorated, the lights being draped in golden yellow with (streamers of royal blue, whilst baskets of ferns were suspended from the coiling, from the centre of which Lung a huge rose shaded bell, wreath eel in flower* The lounge and supperrooms wero gay with bunches‘of vart coloured balloons, palms and ferns, vases of narcissi adorning the tables in the supper-room, where the lights were draped in yellow with p°mpan-> of yellow and black.
