COMMITTEE DANCE.

Dixieland wag the scene of an enjoyable function Inst evening when a small committee, consisting of Mrs H. Burns, ALrs W. G. Jves and Mr I). M’Cormick gave a jazz evening. The ball-room was charmingly decorated, the lights being draped in golden yellow with (streamers of royal blue, whilst baskets of ferns were suspended from the coiling, from the centre of which Lung a huge rose shaded bell, wreath eel in flower* The lounge and supperrooms wero gay with bunches‘of vart coloured balloons, palms and ferns, vases of narcissi adorning the tables in the supper-room, where the lights were draped in yellow with p°mpan-> of yellow and black. Sutherland's Jazz Band supplied the latest dance miusio. Amongst those present were : Mrs H. Burns, black taffetas, embroidered iri silvei beads, with trail of autumn Severs; Mrs AV. G. Ives, black souple satin with long silk fiinge and beautiful diamante embroideries ; Mre J. Walsh, black georgette handsomely embroidered in steel beads, Mies Peggy Ford, apricot taffetas; Mrs C. V. Learning, fuchsia satin with sleeves and overskirt of oire lace ; Airs M. Prendergast, j»eta! frock of flame and black georgette with panels of flame and black sequins; Miss- Evelyn Anderson, flame satin; Miss Nell Anderson, powder blue satin ; Miss MShanahan, black silk poplin ; Airs A.
