“AT HOME.”

WELCOME TO TOSCHA SEIDEL. Yesterday afternoon, in the private reception room at Rallantype’s. Mr and Mrs Alfred J. Buna entertained a number of their friends and members of the musical profession in Christ church at a delightful “ At Home.” given as a welcome to. Mr Toscha Seidel, the celebrated Russian violinist. MrBunz wore a charming reception gown of nary blue georgette. handsomely headed in a diamond-shaped design in sequins. Her becoming hat was of chrysanthemum straw in a slightly brighter shade, oharplv upturned on one side and having a flower mount in varying colours on the other side. She also wore a handsome mole wrap. Mrs Seidel, mother of the violinist, who is accompanying her son on his tour, wore a beautiful gown of black satin with panels of sequin embroideries and a smart capo to match, lined with jade green. Her tricorne bat was of black panne with a large feather mount across the front. After a delightful afternoon tea had been served on small tables, gay with brightlv tinted anemones, irises and sweet-smelling violets Mr Bunz extended to Mr Seidel a cordial welcome to Christchurch, saying he hoped the artist would retain only the pleasantest memories of his visit to this city, and spoke of the privileges which we now enjoy in being visited bv the world’a best artists. Dr Hight, Mr Neville Smith and Mr A. I Oropp also spoke. In a short, fluent, speech Mr Seidel thanked Mr and Mrs Bunz and the assembled company for their kindness. Mrs Seidel. Mr Frank Hutchens (accompanist to Mr SeideD and Mr Scott Colville- (manager') also voiced their appreciation of the manner in whicn they had been received.
