TRADE UNIONISTS CONFER. WAGES AND HOU'RS OF WORK. By Telegraph —Press Association—Copyright Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. SYDNEY, August 22. An important conference of trade unionists, representing the Commonwealth. has been convened for August 23, to discuss the increase in the hours of work to forty-eight hours weekly, the reduction of wages, and the future action to be taken in the event of unions disagreeing with these measures. Conference, will decide whether it will hand the whole matter over to the Commonwealth Council of Action in order to put out a policy for the whole movement in Australia.
