A CLAIM FOR PREFERENCE.

At last night’s ineeting of the executive of the Industrial Corporation, the president, Mr W. J. Jenkin, introduced the question of preference to New Zealand manufactures, and moved:—“That the executive of the Industrial Corporation of New Zealand again impresses upon the Government that in the purchase of goods and supplies required for all Government services. preference be given to New Zea-land-made articles, after due allowance is made for all the factors relating tr> prices and quality : and that, further, this corporation requests an assurance from the Government that the preference to New Zealand manufactures be retained in all Government contract forms ; and that a copy of this report and resolution be sent to the Government.” The resolution was seconded by Mr H. Willis and carried unanimously.
