At the Johannesburg mines, secret police are investigating one of the most daring robberies ever perpetrated on the Rand. During the week-end one of the richest gold mines was robbed of a quantity of amalgam valued at over £SOOO. When the officials went to scrape the plates, they found that the gold was missing.
