Fifty or sixty employees, chiefly girls, at Joyce’s biscuit faetory at Camperdown collapsed through being overcome by fumes from the ovens. The victims fainted in heaps, and were promptly removed to the hospital, where respiratory efforts brought them round. Tbvo were given up for dead, but the majority were allowed to return to their homes. Several are still in hospital.
