SCHOOL COMMITTEES.
COMPLETION OP ELECTIONS. The Canterbury Education Board dealt yesterday with, a number of cases of disputed and incomplete elections of school committees. The election of the Ladbrooka Committee was disputed on the ground that five persons who were not householders voted at the meeting. The ohairman of the householders' meeting stated that several of those objected to voted at th 6 previous meeting without protest, and that in any case five votes would not have affected the result of the election. The election was upheld. The Totara Valley election was disputed on the ground that a person who was not a householder voted. The chairman of the meeting stated that the person in question was eligible, being the owner and occupier of a farm in the school district. The election was upheld. In the following cases of incomplete elections the committees forwarded the names of nominees for the vacancies, and these were approved:— Christchurch West, Messrs James M’Cullough and J. A. Taylor; Cobden, Messrs T. Southeran and A. Gunn; Esk Valley, Messrs E. Saour, 8. Henderson and F. Stocker; Higlibank, Messrs V. Rouse and W. Platt; Mackenzie, Mr J. Y. Moir; Otira, Mr C, Evenden; Ouruhia, Messrs H. A. Dawber and A. J. Thompson; Papanui, Messrs W. G. Chapman, W. Sandford, W. (r. Wray, W. Platt and Mrs Woods; Selwyn, Messrs R. 11. Johnston and J. A. Thomson; Southbridge, Mr A. J. Beamsley; Tinwald. Mr B. Wills.; Woolston, Messrs 11. P. Cox and Dean. There are still members to bo elected at Barrytown ione), Loburn North (oneb Sherwood Downs (four). and Wharenui (eight). There are also seventeen committees which have not sent in returns. Fresh elections will be held on June 12 where necessary.
