Mr Justice Rolin is submitting test questions to tin? full Arbitration Court, dealing with the basic wage. The questions asked are. :~ (1) Whether the Board of Trade is entitled to make fresh awards within twelve months of previous award ? (2) Whether rhe declaration was valid or not P (3) "Whether the Court was bound to act on the board’s decision ? SHEARING RATES. By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright Australian and N.Z. May 19, Mr Justice Powers, acting on the assumption that the basic wage for shearers is £3 Pis a. week, has fixed the rates for shearing at 35s jicr 100 in lieu of the 30s previously mentioned. Other rates have been raised one-sixth an the award already announced.
