Photographs from all over the world are sent once a year to London, and the best are published in the periodical “ Photograms,” which bears the same relationship to photographic work as the publication, “ Academy Pictures, ’ does to art by brushwork. These prints are then packed up aud sent on a tour round the world to all the large photographic societies, and exhibited Ly them as a stimulus to better photographic work. At present the Christchurch Photographic Society has a very fine list of these prints in the Y.M.G.A. concert hall, and the public are being given a chance, free of cost, to inspect/ them to-day and to-morrow. The exhibition ia indeed a splendid one. The best work from Great Britain, Spain, Japan, China, America, Italy, France, United Statee, Canada, Sweden, Australia, New Zealand, and other lands, is here gathered, and it is hard to realise I that some of the work lias been brought to such delicate perfection through tho medium of the camera.
