met: cer—tcottixgh a m . The wedding took place yesterday morning at the Halswell Roman Catholic Church of Aliss Ellen Beatrice Nottingham. daughter of Mr and Airs A. V. Nottingham, Halswell, and Air Alfred Alercer, son of Air and Alts U. Mercer. Christchurch. The Church hi.\i been tastefully decorated by girl friends of the. bride with quantities of pink and white flower, and autumn foliage. The ceremony was conducted by the Rev Father O’Connor, and Afr E. Firth presided at the organ. The bridegroom was attended by his brother. Air J. Mercer. The bride, who entered the Ch l rch on the arm of her father, who also gave her away, wore a pretty and girlish frcck of cream miroir satin, with side panels of silver tissue, and carried a shower bouquet of hot-house flowers and autumn leaves with touches of pink, tied with tulle streamers. Her beautiful veil of Limerick lace was given to her by the Sisters of the Good Shepherd, Afount Alagdala. Her sister, Aliss Nora Nottingham, was bridesmaid, and wore a dainty frock of cream net, long streamers of ipale green depending from her waist, being finished with rosebuds. Her leghorn hat was lined with ruchod green net, and had a wreath of autumn leaves. She earned a bouquet of brown and yellow chrysanthemums, interspersed wth autumn leaves, and wore a gold bangle, the gift of the bridegroom. Airs Nottingham. the bride’s mother, was attired in a handsome dress of powder blue charmeuse satin, with hat to match, and carried a bouquet of gold and brown chrysanthemums. During the wedding service. Air E. Firth sang an Are Maria with great sweetness, his number adding much to the beauty •; of the wedding mass.
